Darryl Novotny, a graduate of the University of Toronto Physiotherapy program (2002), takes great care in assisting patients back to their optimal level of performance.  With a combination of manual therapy, active conditioning and patient education of injuries, Darryl is confident that clients can achieve their health and wellness goals.  He has most recently completed an extensive course on concussion assessment, baseline testing, treatment, and the safe return to sport protocol involved with head injuries. As a former personal trainer (1997 – 2010) and graduate of the Western University Kinesiology program (1998), he also strongly believes that fitness and nutrition play a valuable role in recovery from injuries.

Physiotherapy treatments at the Orthopaedic Sport Institute can include the following:
  • Joint mobilizations
  • Joint manipulations
  • Soft tissue and myofascial release techniques
  • Pain-relieving modalities i.e. ultrasound, TENS, IFC, acupuncture
  • Strength and fitness training
  • Group exercise classes with Jordan McCarl
  • Kinesio Taping
  • Custom bracing
  • Rapid access to a consultation with Dr. Olivia Cheng

Our goal when patients walk into our clinic is to treat and educate them so that they can self-manage and not become dependent on a therapist for their well-being.
